Green Hub Internship

Poplar HARCA is a Housing and Regeneration Community Association in East London that provides homes and support to residents. Alongside our volunteering service, we offer unpaid placements and internships for students who are interested in gaining experience in the housing and community sector.

CaN is looking to expand our community greening programme by developing our good food access offer. We have been successful in encouraging our residents to grow their own food in the community food growing gardens that we have helped them set up in our different estates.

We currently support 16 community gardens, 9 of which we have recently helped do essential repairs and uplift through a grant from Groundwork. With Spring just starting to show up, our gardeners are busy repotting and planting out their germinated seeds in the newly repaired grow beds. It would be exciting to see these seeds grow and bear fruits that would eventually land in our residents’ plates.
