Front of House & Box office Volunteer

Poplar Union is an arts and events space, situated in Poplar between the Limehouse Cut and Bartlett Park, showcasing and nurturing the untapped creativity of Poplar.

As a Front of House Volunteer you will provide a warm and friendly welcome to visitors to the venue, answering questions and dealing with inquiries as well as supporting and assisting the Box Office and Ushering team. This role is particularly suited to someone with excellent people skills who is looking to gain experience in the Arts and/or customer facing roles.

Date: 6th May to on-going

Hours: Half day or full day availabl

As a Poplar Union Volunteer you will:

  • Represent Poplar Union to its visitors, promoting a friendly atmosphere
  • Manage the Box office desk and enquiry desk where you will speak to the public regarding events and hire of the space.
  • You will also set up the room for events and check in audiences on our ticket system.
  • Completing registrations forms for all attendees and collate feedback forms after events.
  • Hand out leaflets about upcoming shows and events and promote PU activities to the general public
  • Adhering to Poplar Union and Poplar HARCA’s policies and procedures
  • We are looking for lively and committed volunteers who can think on their feet, have a  genuine interest in working in front of house and enthusiasm for our exciting new arts space.
  • Volunteers are expected to be on time, act professional at all times and comply with our uniform policy for box office (t-shirts will be provided to all volunteers).
  • Sign our confidentiality policy and are required to follow our code of conducts.
