Musu

Employability Skills and Personal and Social Skills Learner

Musu studied Employability Skills and Personal and Social Skills with us as part of the 50+ programme.
She also received IAG support.

WHAT SITUATION WERE YOU IN BEFORE YOU STARTED WITH US?

I was unemployed having taken time off work to look after family. Before that I worked as a nurse which I loved. I really wanted to get back into work, particularly in women’s health.

My employment advisor at the Hive, Rahela, helped me apply for the 50+ Programme at Workpath.

WHAT SUPPORT DID YOU GET FROM US?

Training with The Hive was a wonderful journey. The employability skills gave me a great refresher on how to secure jobs and the personal and social skills training was really, really wonderful. It helped me to improve my IT skills in particular, and I felt that everything I used to know came back to me with the help of that course.

The training environments were great; everyone on the course became a part of my family and I felt really helped and supported by the staff at the Hive particularly Aledina.

WHERE ARE YOU NOW AND HOW DO YOU FEEL ABOUT IT?

I have completed a work placement at Poplar HARCA at the Aberfeldy centre. I loved every second of it and cried when I left. Now I am looking to go to Uni to do my return to practice qualifications and go back to being a nurse in primary healthcare.

I am so grateful to everyone at Poplar HARCA and The Hive and would recommend their service to everyone.

If you’re interested in applying for a course or would like to find out more information about our programmes please contact The Hive on 070 7510 9770 or thehivetraining@poplarharca.co.uk.
